Though lowball games are opposite in the winning needs they are equally challenging.  The common confusion in lowball games is players miss out on whether they are playing Ace to five, Deuce to seven, Deuce to six.  Just verify what you are drawing on before the card is dealt to avoid confusions and havoc in the showdown.

Lowball is becoming an interesting alternative in casinos where holdem becomes a headache to play anymore. But for those that are used to holdem it might be difficult to stick on to playing the strategies for low rank cards; however if they have been playing eight-or-better in hi-lo games they would have developed the bend of mind to work for low rank cards.

Of late, lowball games are being played by players that get hired to play.  And, some people are know to be dealt with low cards most of the time.  They never perform well with high rank games.  It seems they are blessed only with lowball games. Lowball games are commonly confused with small ball betting. Small ball betting is a reference made to small level betting like just 5 times the blinds when a 10 times bet is what others make kind of, it refers to betting low and not low rank winning the game.  Lowball is where the low rank card wins the game.  Small ball betting is to make small size bets.  Small ball betting can be applied in lowball games and also in high rank winning game.  Never confuse between the two.
